With limited freezer space (tiny!) and frequent power cuts besides, and shopping according to what is in season, I think canning could be a very good solution for us. I haven't invested in getting started because I'd never taken the time to see how it's actually done (and can I do it?), and second, buying supplies when I may only get to keep them another 2 or 3 years (currently living outside the US)? challenges my practicality. Still, this post pushes me nearer...<br />I think my method of choice for preserving the harvest is freezing.
